A great hostel to stay...

Nice place to stay in Iruya. Room was clean and comfortable (though basic - remember this is a hostel). Breakfast was nice. At the new year's eve, Dora (the host) cooked for us a wonderful dinner...
Internet not working (though I believe that this is mostly attributed to the remoteness of the area and the troublesome telephone network rather than something that the hostel is to blame). Bathroom ...

This is a small, remote village. The hostel is good enough for anyone traveling to this area in Christmas Eve

I'd like breakfast a bit...

Goodish location, good wifi, hot shower.
Breakfast was at 08.30, the day is nearly over by then and it was late every day and not really worth waiting for.

Highly recommended

Fantastic views from the rooftop terrace Good quality comfortable mattress with cosy covers Hot, forceful shower Excellent information about local walks, condor viewing places and local restaurants
Breakfast - dry bread and cake, although the cake was good banana bread

roof terrace perfect, but I...

I loved the nice big terrace on the roof! What a view into the mountains there! I loved as well the really delicious Budin Dora made for breakfast!
Although I told Dora, that the bathroom door in my dormitory didn't close properly or actually not at all (you really needed to force it into it, but you could get locked in the bathroom then), it...

As long as your expectations...

This is a hostel, not a hotel. Room was very clean. Bathroom was more of an issue. It was a "wet" room so that if you took a shower the entire floor would be wet. Our toilet leaked, so the ...
bathroom needed work. Not the hostels fault, but the village is a bit of a hike over cobbled streets from the bus station. Best not to have heavy luggage!

Staff friendly and very helpful, very nice breakfast. A lovely town far away and isolated,
Internal room with the window to a closed patio, smell into the room from other guest cooking below, no fresh air., so it did not made a pleasant stay.

Nice place

Comfy bed, really great breakfast (homemade cake!), super nice and helpful owners, clean, safe, well-located, not a party hostel. Pretty decent cost-to-value ratio, although you can pay like 4 USD for...
When backpacking I really look forward to a hot, relaxing shower and I wasn't a big fan of the completely open bathroom design where you have to dry the floor using a squeegee. But to be honest ...

Not worth the price

The room is clean. Has a beautiful terrace with great view.
Way too expensive comparing to other hostels in Iruya (with the average of 150 pesos). Oh and when I came back from hiking, the owner cut my wifi because I'm not staying for the night.

Very good

The hosts, Viktor and Dora, explained a lot about the region and gave detailed information for hiking, also in German and Englisch!
