Alitalia offers passengers 4 service classes on board: Magnifica, Business Class Medium Haul, Premium Economy, and Economy.

• Business-class Magnifica — customers are offered the highest quality services. During the flight, the passenger seat is easily transformed into a full bed. In fact, it reclines 180 degrees and has a massage function. Simultaneously, the seat is made of genuine leather. Each client is given a travel kit (pillow, blanket, sleeping mask, slippers, wipes, and moisturizing cream). A variety of hot dishes, cold snacks, and desserts are served as well.
• As you can understand, Medium Haul Business Class is offered on medium-haul flights. Each row has 4 ergonomic leather chairs produced by the world-famous Recaro brand. In turn, significant space between seats and rows, as well as additional legroom, make the flight comfortable. The dishes served on board are based on the best traditions of Italian cuisine. The menu assortment depends on the flight distance and the season. • Economy Premium offers a number of advantages, such as a separate check-in counter at airports, priority boarding, and increased baggage allowance. The cabin is located behind Business Class and has a maximum of 24 passenger ergonomic seats with footrests. Moreover, passengers have access to the onboard entertainment system. The seatback reclines 120 degrees, which allows you to take a comfortable position during the flight.
• The economy class of Alitalia Airlines offers comfort and a high level of service. Built-in screens in the backs of the seats and personal noise-canceling headphones give access to the onboard entertainment system: a varied collection of films, TV series, classical music concerts, and games. On intercontinental flights, passengers will be offered two hot meals, soft drinks, coffee, and tea.

Baggage and carry-on baggage

Baggage and carry-on baggage allowance, weight, and dimensions depend on the class of service, the selected fare, and the flight distance. In case your baggage has excessive weight and dimensions, an additional charge will be taken from you.

Carry-on baggage:

• economy class Light fare includes one hand luggage up to 8 kg with dimensions of 55 x 35 x 25 cm;
• economy class Classic fare — one bag up to 8 kg;
• economy premium — one bag up to 8 kg;
• business class — two bags up to 8 kg each.

Checked-in baggage:

• economy class Light fare — baggage is not included;
• economy class Classic fare — one bag up to 23 kg, with the sum of three dimensions up to 158 cm;
• economy premium — two bags weighing up to 23 kg each;
• business class — two bags weighing up to 32 kg each.

Alitalia check-in

Online check-in is available 48 hours prior to the departure of your flight. In turn, make sure you finish this procedure at least 3 hours before your departure time. For transatlantic flights to the USA and Canada, online check-in is available 24 hours before the flight.

Menus on board

On Alitalia flights for up to 3 hours, passengers are offered cold snacks, soft drinks, coffee, and tea. On medium-haul and intercontinental flights, cabin crew serves hot meals, fruits, and desserts. Passengers with special nutritional requirements have the option of pre-ordering a special menu: religious, medical, children's.

Alitalia flying with children

The airline has developed a system of child discounts for passengers under 2 years old and from 2 to 12 years old. For infants, it is allowed to carry a folding baby carriage or carrycot in carry-on baggage. The carry-on baggage can include one additional bag up to 10 kg with baby food and essential travel items. At the same time, a seat in the cabin is not provided for passengers under 2 years old. Children of 2-12 years can get a 25% discount on the ticket and fly in a separate passenger seat next to their parents. If the child is traveling for the first time, the flight attendant will give them a “First Flight” certificate signed by the captain. Parents can order baby food on the airline's website no later than 24 hours before departure. On flights longer than three hours, children will be given a special travel kit with colorful headphones, socks, a sleep mask, pencils, and a toy book.
