As a part of the IAG-International Airlines Group, Iberia is the largest airline in Spain, which is based at Madrid International Airport — MAD (ADOLFO SUAREZ BARAJAS). Its main priority is air transportation of passengers and freight. In April 2010, British Airways and Iberia announced a merger. The cooperation between these companies made it possible to unite the route network. As a result, this union became the third largest airline in the world. Nowadays, the company operates regular direct flights to 141 destinations in Europe, Africa, Asia, America, and the Middle East. Iberia service is not only about comfort in the air, but it is also about the highest quality services at airports. The company takes into consideration current trends, which is why it implements restrictions on the emission of harmful substances into the atmosphere every year.
Iberia fleet
In the spring of 2020, the airline's air fleet consisted of 84 airliners. At the same time, Iberia renews its fleet with modern long-haul and narrow-fledged aircraft annually.
Iberia travel classes
Iberia offers three levels of service on board: Economy Class, Premium Economy, and Business Class.
Economy class
In the cabin, economy class passengers are offered decent service at an affordable price. The ergonomic passenger seat has an adjustable headrest, which provides you the opportunity to feel comfortable throughout the entire flight. On all long-haul flights, meals are included in the price; on short routes, passengers can buy cold snacks, desserts, and drinks on board. Individual monitors are integrated into the backrest and provide access to the onboard entertainment system in 65 languages. Each passenger seat has a USB port and an individual lighting system.
Premium Economy
Premium Economy is offered exclusively on long haul routes. Customers check-in at a separate counter, have priority boarding, and disembark in the first rows. The salon is located between business class and economy class. The passenger seats are 49 cm wide, have a footrest, and recline 18 cm. The row spacing of 94 cm allows you to enjoy more personal space. Moreover, each passenger is given an individual set with travel accessories, a pillow, and a blanket. There are also noise-canceling headphones and individual monitors that can be used in order to watch movies, TV shows, and concerts. In turn, free access to WI-FI helps passengers to stay connected. Throughout the flight, passengers are offered a variety of delicious Spanish dishes prepared with high-quality ingredients.
Business Class
Business class passengers enjoy special comfort and privileges from the moment they arrive at the airport. For instance, a separate check-in desk, business lounge services, and priority boarding are integral parts of this travel class. On long-haul flights, the business class passenger seat can be easily transformed into a full-fledged sleeping place 2 meters long. Simultaneously, the dividing screen creates a feeling of complete privacy. A dedicated team of flight attendants serves classic Spanish dishes, cold snacks, desserts, as well as a wide range of fine wines and soft drinks throughout the flight. USB port and internet access help you to stay connected throughout the whole flight.
Baggage and carry-on baggage
Baggage allowance (weight and dimensions of the bag) depends on the class of service and the selected fare. Carry-on baggage must not exceed 56 x 45 x 25 cm to fit in the compartment above the passenger seat. In case the dimensions do not correspond to the norm, the bag will be considered as checked-in baggage and carried in the cargo hold. The size of the checked-in baggage must not exceed the sum of three dimensions 158 cm.
