British Airways

Since its foundation in 1974, British Airways has been a state-owned national airline of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The company is often referred to as BA. The head office and main transportation hub are located at London's Heathrow LHR airport, from where there are regular flights to 200 destinations daily, connecting all continents. The airline is primarily focused on transatlantic and long-haul flights to cities in the Caribbean, North and South America, Australia, and Oceania. In addition to long-haul destinations, the route network is developed within the UK and in Europe. In January 2011, BA and Spanish Iberia merged into IAG — International Airlines Group. This merger significantly increased the airline's revenue, and the group became the second-largest in Europe and the third-largest in the world. BA is one of the founders of a major aviation alliance Oneworld.

British Airways Fleet

By the end of 2020, the BA fleet consisted of 255 airliners. The company keeps a close watch on all novelties and innovative developments of aviation concerns, and regularly updates the fleet.

Travel classes in British Airways

British Airways offers its passengers four classes of service onboard: Economy, Economy Premium (World Traveler Plus), Business Class, and First Class. The service and amenities available depend on the fare and travel class you choose.

Economy Class:

Onboard services in Economy Class may vary depending on the flight distance and the fare paid. The cabin is located behind the Business Class and the Economy Premium cabin and has pleasant lighting. The design of the cabin has been developed, taking into account the latest technologies, has soft light, and comfortable passenger seats. Ergonomic seats are made of genuine leather, equipped with hexagonal headrests and movable armrests with built-in sockets. All this allows each passenger to have more personal space and feel maximum comfort throughout the flight. Customers will be offered an onboard menu of the British brand Marks & Spencer, which will allow choosing a variety of snacks, hot dishes, desserts, and drinks. You can pay for meals onboard either in cash or with a credit or debit card.

Premium Economy/World Traveler Plus:

This class is only available on medium- and long-haul flights. Customers check-in at the Business Class counter, have priority boarding, and access to lounge areas. The spacious lounge has a limited number of passenger seats and more private space. Each client is given a quilt, pillow, individual travel kit: a lip balm, cream, toothpaste, and brush. During the trip, a special team of flight attendants delivers a free hot menu and a wide range of alcoholic and soft drinks, as well as coffee and tea. All dishes are made of high-quality products. The Premium Economy cabin seats are 47 cm wide, and the backrest reclines by 96 cm. With an individual display and noise-absorbing headphones, passengers can enjoy movies and a variety of shows from the onboard entertainment collection.

Business Class:

Business Class Services from BA is a high-standard service that guarantees a comfortable and unforgettable journey. The service begins upon arrival at the airport: a separate check-in counter, an accelerated passing through the customs and control, visits to separate waiting rooms, and priority boarding. Business Class lounges vary depending on the flight distance and type of aircraft. On long-haul flights, a passenger seat made of genuine leather can be easily transformed into a 187-cm-long bed. Each client receives individual bedding from the famous brand of The White Company and a travel kit. Club World Sleeper Service has been developed on many transcontinental flights. The flight attendant will offer a choice of alcoholic beverages, prepare a passenger's seat for bedtime, and you will be served breakfast 40 minutes before boarding your destination. Each seat has an individual 12-inch display and noise absorbing headphones. The onboard entertainment system will offer you your favorite TV series and the latest masterpieces of world cinema.

First Class:

The luxury and exclusive services in First Class BA are available on long-haul flights. What is First Class British Airways? It is a private cabin in the air, SPA treatments, Temperley London pajamas, slippers, and Elemis skincare products. All meals are served on designer William Edwards tableware and are prepared with the best ingredients from the most famous chefs. The First Class passenger's seat effortlessly transforms into a bed with a quilted mattress, feather blanket, and pillow. All linen is made of snow-white cotton, custom-made. Each cabin has a power supply for charging various electronic devices and gadgets. Free WI-FI is available for First Class passengers throughout the journey. A 15-inch screen allows you to enjoy your favorite movie, TV series, or a classical music concert during your flight.
