SAS Flights

We will find for you the most attractive offers for air travels

SAS (Scandinavian Airlines), the leading airline in the Scandinavian countries, is based in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden. Besides, it has three hubs at Copenhagen CPH, Stockholm STO, and Oslo OSL. Since 1946, major flights have operated between Scandinavia and European destinations. In 1957, SAS made history as the first airline to fly around the world across the North Pole on the Copenhagen-Anchorage-Tokyo route. Two years later, the fleet was replenished with jet aircraft. As the most punctual airline in Europe, SAS is widely known due to hundreds of flights that deliver passengers to more than 190 destinations in Europe, Asia, and North America. Moreover, SAS is one of the founders and members of the largest aviation union called Star Alliance.

SAS fleet

As of the spring of 2020, SAS had a fleet of 157 modern aircraft. At the same time, the fleet is annually replenished with new, modified liners.

SAS travel classes

There are three travel classes on SAS flights: economy, premium, and business. Therefore, provided services depend on the fare that was purchased for the flight.

Economy class

Economy class fares are divided into two groups: Economy Go and Economy Smart. Nevertheless, all ergonomic seats have a comfortable design, as the back of the chair takes a comfortable position during the flight. The width of the passenger seat is 44 cm, whereas the distance between the rows is 78 cm. In turn, the backrest can be reclined by 15 cm. If you select an economy travel class, you should remember that meals and baggage allowance depend on the flight distance. For instance, on short flights under the Economy Go fare, meals are not provided and passengers can only take carry-on baggage on board. On long-haul flights, the economy class cabin is equipped with individual screens and headphones, providing passengers the opportunity to use a multimedia entertainment system. On intercontinental flights, hot meals and a wide variety of drinks are included.

Premium class

Premium passengers use a separate check-in counter, airport business lounges, and priority boarding. The premium cabin is much wider than the cabin of the Economy Class, thereby offering more legroom. Furthermore, passengers get the opportunity to transport more baggage. When it comes to the services onboard, people can enjoy hot meals, a variety of snacks, drinks, coffee, and tea throughout the flight.

Baggage and carry-on baggage

The number of pieces of checked-in baggage and carry-on baggage, their weight, and dimensions depend on the travel class and selected fare. The sum of three dimensions of carry-on baggage should not exceed 115 cm, whereas the sum of dimensions of checked-in baggage should be up to 158 cm. In the case of excessive weight and parameters, the transportation of the bag is subject to an additional charge.

Carry-on baggage:

  • Economy travel class Go — one piece of baggage up to 8 kg;
  • Economy travel class Smart — one piece of baggage up to 8 kg;
  • Premium class — one piece of baggage up to 8 kg plus one bag of personal items (raincoat, umbrella, laptop);
  • Business class — two bags up to 8 kg each.

Checked-in baggage:

  • Economy travel class Go — baggage is not included;
  • Economy travel class Smart — one piece of baggage up to 23 kg;
  • Premium travel class — two bags up to 23 kg each;
  • Business travel class — two bags up to 32 kg each.

SAS check-in

People have the opportunity to check-in online on the Scandinavian Airlines website or using a special application on your smartphone. Online check-in is available 22 hours prior to the departure time, and it closes one hour before the flight. Preliminary check-in allows passengers to choose a comfortable seat on board and pay for additional baggage.

Menus on board

On Scandinavian Airlines flights, you can pre-order specific meals. Passengers can book a special menu on the company's website no later than 24 hours before departure. For example, there are religious, Asian, dietary, and children's dishes. All meals are prepared with high-quality ingredients.

SAS flying with children

Infants under 2 years old travel in the cabin with an adult passenger and receive a 90% discount. For passengers traveling with infants, one additional piece of carry-on baggage up to 10 kg is allowed.

If necessary, the airline can arrange the travel of a child aged 5 to 15 years without being accompanied by an adult passenger. Usually, the UMNR (unaccompanied minor service) is provided upon prior request (it is a chargeable service). During the entire flight, SAS employees look after the minor passenger.

Scandinavian Airlines loyalty program

Today, SAS is the founder and member of the Star Alliance. Any passenger can become a member of the Miles & More loyalty program and earn miles using the services of 26 airlines. In the future, bonuses can be used in order to improve the quality of services on board, upgrade the travel class, increase the baggage allowance, and visit airport lounges around the world.
