Salta
Salta is a large city in the north-west of Argentina, located in a valley between two picturesque mountain ranges. It attracts tourists with its beautiful colonial architecture, a large number of museums, and vibrant nature in the surrounding area. It retains the spirit of old Argentina, which has been irretrievably lost by other cities in the country that have become far too modern. And here you will be greeted by the cozy winding streets and the endless charm of the colonial era. Important attractions are the Basilica and Convent of San Francisco, which were declared a National Monument, the ancient Convent of San Bernardo, and the President Jose E. Uriburu Museum. In the surrounding area, it is worth visiting the Amphitheater gorge, named for its excellent acoustics, and the Salinas Grandes, one of the largest salt marshes in the world.
