A ski resort known for its vibrant nightlife

San Carlos de Bariloche

San Carlos de Bariloche is located among the mountains and lakes of Argentine Patagonia, near the foothills of the Andes. It is one of the most important tourists and sports centers in the country. The ski slopes of Mount Cerro Catedral are almost the most popular in all of South America. The city is the capital of the Lake District and is notable for its architecture. Many buildings here are constructed in the Alpine style, and the mountain peaks of the Cerro Catedral, Cerro Lopez, and Tronador add resemblance to a typical Swiss resort. Nature is fabulous here. You can walk all day long in the Nahuel Huapi Nature Reserve, admiring the magnificent lakes and snow-covered peaks. The city is famous for its beautiful chocolate. There are many pastry shops on the main street where you can taste it. There are a lot of night clubs and discos in Bariloche — the resort is considered the capital of nightlife in Argentina.
