Israel's Ministry of Health has announced relaxed rules for all travelers. Since May 10, it will be enough to show the result of an express test for antibodies made not earlier than 24 hours before departure when crossing the border. Before that, a PCR test done 72 hours in advance was required. It is much more expensive and less accessible in many countries.
It was also announced that as of May 20, mandatory testing for COVID-19 at Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) will be abolished. This relaxation of the entry rules is due to a steady decline in the number of people who have fallen ill.
According to WHO statistics, there were about 2,500 confirmed cases in Israel on May 9. The pandemic peaked in January when just under 500,000 people became ill.
