A new tourist attraction — Sky Bridge 721 — has opened in the Czech Republic. It is now the world's longest suspension footbridge (721 m), surpassing the previous record held by the Portuguese Arouca (516 m).
The 721-meter Sky Bridge is part of the Dolni Morava resort, located in the Kralicki Śnieżnik mountain range. It crosses the Mlýnský Creek valley from the ridge of Mt Slamnik to the ridge of Mt Chlum at 1125 meters above sea level on one side and 1135 meters on the other side. The width of the structure is 1.2 meters. A maximum of 500 people can be on it simultaneously. The bridge will be accessible on days when wind speeds do not exceed 135 km/h.
There is a fee to visit Sky Bridge 721. Local authorities expect the bridge to become the best viewing platform in the neighborhood and a popular attraction to draw tourists.
