Porto Alegre
Porto Alegre, the capital of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, is located in the south of Brazil, on the shore of the large Lake Guaíba. It has existed since 1772. The city has preserved beautiful buildings, temples, and palaces. Piratini Palace and the Church of Nossa Senhora Das Dores deserve attention. There are also many spectacular new business centers in the city. The Central Market, an imposing building, constructed in 1869, is also interesting. It has become a point of attraction for locals and tourists long ago. Here you can have a delicious lunch and buy great souvenirs. After that, you should go on a tour of the city. Check out Chala da Praca Quinze. This house is an early XX-century model of Art Nouveau and is fascinating because its frame was designed in England and brought to Porto Alegre. It has one of the most expensive restaurants in the city. In the evening, make sure you go to Farroupilha Park with its fountains and sculptures. In addition to walking tours, it's wise to take a river cruise to Guaíba, which lasts about 3 hours. You will see the city from unexpected angles and admire the many uninhabited islands.
