Rovaniemi
Rovaniemi is the northernmost of Finland's major cities. It is located 8 kilometers from the Arctic Circle, 800 kilometers from Helsinki, and is the administrative center of the Lapland province. Despite being close to the Arctic Circle, winters are not very cold here. And since nature in these places is surprisingly good, the city attracts lovers of winter sports, as well as those who wish to ride a deer or dog sled. Furthermore, as everyone knows, Lapland is the birthplace of Santa Claus (aka Joulupukki, aka Santa Claus). His official residence is situated near Rovaniemi, so in the winter, on Christmas and New Year's Day, hundreds of thousands of tourists come here with children.
