Kuta is a popular resort in the south of Bali in the Indian Ocean. Until the 1960s, it had been a poor fishing village with no electricity. When hippies discovered the place, they would come here during the day and spend nights in Denpasar. The popularity of the local beach was growing, and soon things began to change — hotels, restaurants, clubs, and discos were built here. Nowadays, it is a resort, where everything is focused on young people who have fun around the clock. The beach of Kuta is wide and sandy, perfect for surfing. The average height of the waves on the coast reaches three meters. The cheap restaurants and cafes always have a great selection of excellent seafood dishes. In the evening, locals and tourists come to the shore of the ocean to enjoy an incredible sunset.
