Kochi is located in the south of Shikoku Island. Originally, in the river valley, in the place of the Japanese city, was Kochi Castle, where the governors of the province lived. The city was founded only at the end of the 19th century. You should start the exploration of Koti with a castle erected at the very beginning of the 17th century. Most of the buildings that have survived are from the middle of the 17th century when it was rebuilt after a fire. The observation deck offering beautiful views of the city is at the top of the main tower. Tourists love to visit the Godai-san-kohen park, which is located on the top of Godai Mountain. There you will find the Tikurinji Temple, the Botanical Garden with a large conservatory and museum, as well as a French restaurant. The mountain offers a great panorama over Kochi.
