Nagano
Nagano is a Japanese city on the island of Honshu. It is located in a mountainous area with a harsh, cold climate. It has all conditions for winter sports. It is not without reason, that the 1998 Olympic Games were held in Nagano. Tourists should visit the Jigokudani Monkey Park. In the cold season, it’s fun to watch wild monkeys bathe in the hot thermal springs - onsen. It is also interesting to visit the Zenkoji Buddhist temple, which, according to some sources, was founded in the 7th century. Not far from the city, you will find the battlefield of Kawanakajima, where historical battles took place between the opposing Japanese clans in the Middle Ages. Children will enjoy visiting the zoo and dinosaur park on Chausuyama Mountain. After a busy day, you can go on a guided tour to the Nishinomon factory, where you can try the famous sake.
