Manila Ocean Park

One of the must-see places in the capital of the Philippines is the Manila Ocean Park. It is situated in the largest public park of Manila known as Rizal Park. An oceanarium is a perfect place for pastime where you can rest mentally and physically.

Marine Creatures of the Manila Ocean Park

Construction of the Ocean Park was completed in 2008. Its sizes much exceed the famous oceanarium in Singapore. Its total area is more than 8 thousand sq. meters.

There are several thematic pavilions in the Manila Ocean Park, such as:

1. Agos Pavilion. This is a rainforest in miniature. Besides the typical plants, there are 8 freshwater bodies with various species of fishes.

2. Bahura Pavilion. The name of the pavilion is translated as a reef. The bright representatives of the coral reefs live in the huge aquariums of the oceanarium.

3. Pating Pavilion. A literal translation of the pavilion’s name is sharks. The most redoubtable marine creatures can be seen in this section.

4. Kalaliman Pavilion. All conditions are made here for the living of the representatives of the Philippine sea bottom.

5. Pagi Pavilion. This is an air-supported section where you can observe such amazing creatures as rays.

6. The Vivid Ocean underwater gallery. This is one of the most interesting parts of the Manila Ocean Park. The gallery is a 25-meters glass tunnel surrounded by the sea water with various exotic inhabitants of the ocean bottom.

Recreation in the Manila Ocean Park

The Manila Ocean Park is much more than just an oceanarium. Visitors of the park can attend and experience the following events:

  • Diving in the oceanarium;
  • Fish Spa (when little fishes do you a foot peeling);
  • Sea Lion Show;
  • Open-air cages with various animals inhabiting the Philippines;
  • The tallest music fountain in the country (a spectacular light show, accompanied by the music and visual effects).
