Santiago de Compostela
Santiago de Compostela is the capital of the Galicia community, which sprang up around one of the most significant world pilgrimage centers — the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. Most of the city sights belong to the Christian religion, although there are interesting museums and examples of unusual Spanish architecture. According to its religious significance, Santiago de Compostela is in third place among Catholics — right after Rome and Jerusalem. For more than 10 centuries, pilgrims have come here who follow the Way of Saint James the Great to bow to the relics of one of the apostles of Jesus Christ.
