In search of the monster on the shores of Loch Ness Lake

Collection of golden icons in the Cathedral Church of Saint Andrew and medieval castles

Inverness

Inverness is in the north of Scotland. The city is the northernmost in the United Kingdom and is located on the North Sea coast. Inverness is known not only for its rich history and architectural attractions but also for Lake Loch Ness, located in the south within the city limits. Although skeptics claim that the existence of the mystical monster is just a fiction, tourists from all over the world hope to find the terrifying monster. In the city, you can climb Mount Ben Nevis — the highest point of the British Isles, visit the local medieval castle, admire the architecture of the Cathedral Church of Saint Andrew with a collection of gold icons, presented to the city by the Russian Emperor. You can hang out in a colorful pub or cozy restaurant, or go on a tour of one of the castles around the city.
