Sheffield is located in the central part of England, in South Yorkshire. It was founded in the 8th century, but nowadays is famous as a city of parks, gardens, and woodlands. There are more than 250 of them. Sheffield has more trees per person than any other city in Europe. Besides, a third of the city lies in the Peak District National Park. Also, Sheffield is known all over the world as a city of the oldest football club, Sheffield FC. While walking around the city, you should see the City Hall near the Peace Gardens, the Cathedral Church of St Peter and St Paul, Bishops' House, visit the ruins of the castle of the 13th century where Mary, Queen of Scots, was imprisoned. The city has its local Walk of Fame, like the one in the Hollywood. You can add several interesting museums, the Sheffield Botanical Gardens, and the Winter Garden to your must-visit list.
