Boundless lakes and a diversity of skyscrapers

Oklahoma City

Oklahoma City, the capital and largest settlement in the state of Oklahoma, is located in south-central America. The city was founded in the late XIX century. About ten thousand people rushed here after they had been allowed to settle in territories that belonged to the Indians. It developed rapidly because oil deposits had been discovered underground. The North Canadian River divides the state capital into two parts. Some airlocks, canals, and dams have been built on it. This resulted in a series of small lakes, which are a favorite place for locals and visitors. The city has several skyscrapers. The highest of them is the 50-story Devon Tower (257 m).
