El Ávila National Park

Near the banks of the Caribbean Sea, not far from Caracas, spreads its beauties the El Ávila National Park. It comprises the territory of 200 square kilometers at the foot of the El Ávila Mountain which is more than 2500 meters in height.

The park is the favorite place for tourists. Its flora consists of more than two thousand species. The local animals' world is also diverse. You can meet here various reptiles and amphibians, birds and insects. The best time to visit the park is from the morning till afternoon. In the evening, the forest is covered with a translucent foggy mist which makes it more difficult to explore the area, enjoy the beauty of nature and admire the residents of this incredible place.

The territory of the park is equipped with a wide range of routes to make it more comfortable for the tourists to enjoy their walking tours. Mind, that the park is more than 10 kilometers in length so make sure you have got acquainted with the map of the area and have chosen the most interesting and suitable route before you start your adventure.

If you climb the El Ávila Mountain, you can admire the splendor of the city and the coastal waters. It’s a perfect place to rest from the burning rays of the Sun and take a deep breath of crystal-pure mountain air. You can reach the peak of the mountain either via a special route or choose a more comfortable way and use the aerial cableway. The cabin will bring you to the top of the mountain in 15-20 minutes. When you climb at the height of more than 1000 meters above Caracas, you can enjoy a walking tour around the very peak of the mountain and admire marvelous views through a spyglass.
